The Last Laugh
Unless I have an interview to release, I don’t usually post anything on Thursdays, but I couldn’t resist this one.
Monday’s post entitled Recognition (click to read it) came with a picture of a plaque (note the correct spelling :)) For years, I have laughed at how often Koreans misspell words and commit atrocious grammar mistakes. Many of my readers know what I’m talking about. I’ll confess, I’ve often bordered on mockery of these often comical errors Koreans make when using English. Which, for the record, is shameful; how good is my Korean after twelve years in their wonderful country? 아무것도
Anyway, I would just like to say to all my Korean friends; you have the last laugh.
In my post on Monday, I repeatedly spelled plaque as plague. Of course, there is a difference between pestilences unleashed and mementos of recognition. And after I went back and reread the post, I realized I had repeatedly released those pestilences upon my readers. I’m thinking of making a plague, I mean plaque of that post to put next to my “Dam Armistead” plaque (and, by the way, plaque was spelled correctly on the plaque given to me by the Korean church!)
If it weren’t for a good friend who emailed to tell me I must have made a Freudian slip, I’d have never known. What are friends for if not to enjoy pointing out your flaws? And since he’s probably reading this, I’ll go ahead and point out to him that he has plenty of flaws in his tennis game which I will be exploiting when we get together in August!
It’s good to know plaque or plague that there are some folks actually reading these posts! And For all of you who read them more or less regularly, thanks for taking the time to let me share with you what is going on in my heart and life and walk with Christ.
Proverbs 17:22
In Christ,
