Jesus doesn’t need our churches to be in the spotlight. Jesus doesn’t need ministries of self-promotion. The crowds sought out and found him in the most desolate places. They still do.

Hi, I’m Dan Armistead. I’ve served as an international pastor and professor of Practical Theology seeking to make and train disciples of Jesus worldwide.

I began Church on the Edge because I believe God does some of his greatest work on the margins, working in places and using people that don’t always fit in the institutional church. I’ve sat on dirt floors in tiny houses in India teaching by lamplight, preached in illegal house churches in China, and led pastor training conferences in places like Myanmar, Thailand, and Uganda.

I’m blessed to stay in contact with former students I taught during my years at Torch Trinity Graduate University in Seoul, Korea; Students serving throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, as well as Australia, Canada, and the United States. I’ll be sharing their stories from time to time, along with interviews.

During my years as Senior Pastor of Seoul International Baptist Church - now, Freedom Village Church - I led a congregation of people from various Christian traditions. Our unity in the midst of diversity led us to adopt the vision; It’s All About Jesus. And it is!

I hope you’ll signup for my devotionals. I’ll also be posting excerpts from my books. How do we grow spiritually? What role should Christians play in politics? Are there still prophets in the church today? These are just a few of the topics I’ll be writing about as I challenge all of us to step out in faith and experience Jesus on the edge.
